Congressional Committee Supports Medical Marijuana

In a rebuke to Attorney General Jeff Sessions, the House Appropriations Committee voted to protect medical marijuana patients & providers from federal prosecutions.  The amendment to the 2019 budget bill would prevent the prosecution of medical marijuana providers, so long as they followed state law.

Moreover, the bill won support from both Democrats and Republicans.  It seems like weed is the only issue on which they can agree.

However, the budget amendment applies to licensed medical marijuana only.  It does nothing to help recreational users or growers.  Unfortunately, they are still fair game for the feds.

Marijuana reformers need to register and vote. If you don’t vote, you don’t have a say.
